EFL students at the Museum

We welcome organised visits from groups of EFL students from language schools. All groups should be booked in advance.

We are a small museum, so large groups are asked to divide into smaller groups of 15 or fewer. During busy periods we may need to limit entry to one small group at a time.

Please ensure adequate supervision of groups of under-18s – groups of students without adequate supervision may be turned away.

Admission to the Museum is free, but we suggest a donation of £2 per visitor to help us with our running costs. This can be given to the gallery staff on your arrival at the Museum.

Discover the Museum

The Museum holds an important position in the cultural life of Oxford, being housed in the world’s first purpose-built museum, and is a must-see for visitors to the city. Exhibits on show include internationally significant collections of scientific instruments such as astrolabes and sundials, as well as famous objects such as Einstein’s blackboard and equipment used in the development of penicillin as an antibiotic.
