Renaissance Globe Project: In the collections
Renaissance Globe Project: In the collections
The History of Science Museum's collection contains several different types of globes, among which are some fine examples from the Islamic tradition, a number of early modern European globes, and 18th-century globes by well known English makers. There are also globes adapted to specific practical purposes, such as navigational instruments, educational use, and time-telling.
This resource is intended to provide easy access to notable examples, although more globes from the collection can be found using the collections online searchable database.
